The Baglio
Surrounded by citrus groves and fruit trees, in a unique setting on the slopes of Etna, is a beautiful farmhouse from the end of the 18th century, recovered and renovated with grace, perfect for a pleasant holiday or business stay. It is run by the La Spina family, who love country life and are particularly attentive to the care of their guests and the comfort of their stay.
A beautiful panorama surrounds the hotel, ranging from the Ionian Sea to the Bay of Naxos to Taormina and Calabria and Mount Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, called "Mongibello". A hearty breakfast is served in the morning with homemade bread and fruit from the farm.
In the vicinity of the baglio you can enjoy many outdoor activities, including hiking in the Etna Park or in the Fiumefreddo nature reserve, canyoning in the Alcantara Gorges or golfing at the 18-hole club in Castiglione di Sicilia.
Alternatively, you can visit Taormina, the tourist port of Riposto, the Chestnut tree of a hundred horses (the oldest tree in Europe), Acireale with its Baroque and the "Timpa", Acitrezza and the areas of "I Malavoglia", Acicastello and Catania with its Baroque churches and monuments.
